The Master Singers - James Boulter

James Boulter

James Boulter, baritone, is an associate professor in the UW-Eau Claire chemistry department. In addition to teaching courses in general, analytical, and environmental chemistry, he works with undergraduate students performing atmospheric chemistry research. He also currently serves as both Sustainability Fellow for the office of the Chancellor and Interim Coordinator of the Watershed Institute for Collaborative Environmental Studies. Both he and his wife, soprano Christine Emerson, graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington and he received his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He finds it hard to believe that this is already his 8th season singing with the Mastersingers; other formative musical experiences include singing in Westminster Abbey and Notre Dame Cathedral this past winter with the UWEC Alumni Choir and playing trumpet in ensembles such as the Longmont Symphony, Boulder Concert Band, Colorado Mahlerfest Orchestra, Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan Society, and Seattle's Philharmonia Northwest. back
