The Master Singers - Carter Smith

Carter Smith, tenor, is an Associate Professor of
Spanish at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish
and German from Concordia College in
Moorhead, Minnesota where he
also sang with the
Concordia College Choir. After teaching high
school Spanish for several years in Lakeville,
Minnesota, he returned to school
and earned his
Master’s degree in Spanish from New York
University in Madrid, Spain followed by his PhD in
Hispanic Civilization and Literature
from the
University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. In the past,
he has sung
with the Minnesota and the Montana
Chorales. He and his wife, Beth,
have a son and
future tenor, Gabriel.
